Hi all,
Back at it!
Ice quartz is powerful, nurturing and protective in its energy. It is found where glaciers recently retreated. It is known as a growth interference quartz. This is created when mineral formations adhere to the crystallizing quartz formation, then disappear over time.
These interference crystals are used in one’s quest for emotional, physical or spiritual growth to remove old, outdated stuck energies.

Hi all,
Since I got behind last week, here are two gemstones this week!
Jet or formal name lignite. This is considered a minor gemstone and not a true mineral. It has an organic origin; a geological material that is formed from decaying wood under extreme pressure.
It is either black or brown in color, but may include inclusions which lend a metallic and brassy color to it.
There are two kinds of jet: hard and soft. Hard jet is a result of carbon compression and salt water, whjile soft jet is the result of carbon compression and fresh water.
It is easy to polish for jewelry. It is also easy to carve but is difficult to create detail without breaking. Experienced carvers are needed to get greater detail.
Jet beads were very popular during the Roaring Twenties and any jewelry from that time is valued by collectors.
White calcite is a crystal that occurs in a variety of geometric forms. They are often found attached to other crystals, such as amethyst, citrine and flourite.
It is found throughout Brazil, the US, China and Mexico.
It is a powerful energy amplifier and healer. It aids in memory, clears Chakra centers and opens the crown chakra.

And it’s not wet and cold!
This is a stone of purity and balances mind, body and spirit! It’s coloration is black with white specks.
If placed on the sacral chakra, it will calm and soothe and allow you to view unhealthy patterns in your own behavior, opening to change.
It draws hidden imbalance to the surface and releases them.
The blackness in it enhances the ability to reach your inner self. It’s one of the earliest known stones to be used for seeing into the future.
It’s used by healers to relieve muscle cramps and also considered a good stone for detox.

Hi,
It’s technical name is Chalcopyrite. As it’s name implies, it has the colors of a peacock! Some stones are a mix of colors and some are shades of pinks or greens.
The technical name is derived from the Greek words chalkos meaning “copper” and pyrites meaning “strike fire”.
The mineral increases one’s ability to be more perceptive. It helps with pulling ethereal energy to and with bringing information to yourself and others around you.
Peacock ore can be used to break up energy blocks and can open and cleanse the crown or head chakra.
It’s great for meditating.
Cheers!

Hi all!
We added another new artist last month!
Since we have jewelry and paintings on our Createability storefront i thought it would be fun to explore topics related to jewelry making and painting!
I hope to have our posting artists throw in their coments about topics related to what they do as well!
As a jewelry artist myself, I’ll be posting about the meaning of different gemstones!
Here’s one!
Moss Agate: sometimes also called Mos agate. it’s a semi precious gemstone from in the earth and this beautiful mineral is the result! It has minerals of a green color embedded in it which forms patterns suggestive of moss found in nature. Some moss agate also looks like blue cheese. The background color is clear or milky-white and contain the minerals of iron, manganese and chrome which adds red and brown colors.
It is does not contain organic matter like mossand is usually formed from weathered volcanic rocks.
